Continue your journey with a visit to the War Remnants Museum, which offers a poignant look at the Vietnam War through photographs, military equipment, and personal stories from the war’s survivors. For a peaceful contrast, visit the Thien Hau Pagoda, a beautiful and tranquil place dedicated to the sea goddess, located in the heart of Cholon, the city's Chinese district. The pagoda is known for its intricate carvings and peaceful ambiance, making it a serene escape from the bustling city.

Next, wander through Binh Tay Market in Cholon, a lively market full of fresh produce, herbs, and Chinese-inspired goods. The market’s colorful stalls and historical architecture make it a unique place to explore. Finish your city tour by discovering Cholon Chinese Town, a district brimming with history and culture. Here, you can visit ancient temples and pagodas, observe local Chinese traditions, and soak in the distinct atmosphere of this fascinating area.

To end the day on a high note, enjoy a relaxing dinner cruise along the Saigon River. As the boat glides through the water, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the illuminated skyline, offering a beautiful and peaceful perspective of the city by night.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 17: MY THO - MEKONG RIVER DELTA[B/L]

Leave for My Tho Town in Tien Giang Province, the gateway to the Mekong Delta, located about 75 km from Ho Chi Minh City. My Tho is known for its tranquil atmosphere and lush landscapes, and it marks the beginning of the famous Mekong Delta region. Your first stop is the Vinh Trang Pagoda, a beautiful and historic pagoda surrounded by serene gardens. The pagoda is an important cultural and spiritual site in the region, with its unique blend of architectural styles including Vietnamese, Chinese, and Cambodian influences. Take some time to admire its intricate carvings, stunning Buddha statues, and peaceful surroundings.

Afterward, embark on a boat trip on the Mekong River, one of the world's most significant rivers. Cruise along the water, passing through small canals and by lush green islands, to visit the fruit gardens on the islets. These islands are home to abundant orchards that produce tropical fruits like longan, rambutan, and mango. You’ll also have the chance to stop at traditional peasant houses on the islet, where you can interact with the locals and experience their way of life. The boat ride offers a unique opportunity to see the vibrant ecosystem of the Mekong Delta and appreciate the beauty of rural Vietnam.

For lunch, enjoy a typical Mekong Delta meal at a local restaurant, where you can savor fresh seafood and other regional specialties that highlight the flavors of the delta. The meal will give you a true taste of local cuisine, which emphasizes fresh ingredients and delicate seasonings.

In the afternoon, return to Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll have some free time to relax or explore the city at your own leisure, perhaps enjoying some last-minute shopping or sightseeing.

Overnight at the hotel.
